Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority Headquarters Kissy Road, Freetown. Thursday 21st October 2021 – Her Excellency, Madam Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone received her Biometric Driver’s License at the Office of the First Lady, Peninsula Road, Goderich in Freetown.
The Symbolic Issuance was done by Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh, Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority. In his brief statement, Mr. Sannoh expressed gratitude to Her Excellency Fatima Maada Bio for her support to the SLRSA and her unwavering contributions to nation building. He said this was the beginning of great beginnings. He however pleaded with the First Lady to join the road safety bandwagon and help change the many sad stories on our roads.
“As the mother of the nation and unarguably the most influential personalities in Sierra Leone, you could help shape positively the minds, attitudes and behaviors of road users and thus save many lives.” Mr. Sannoh affirmed.
In her response, Her Excellency, First Lady Fatima Maada Bio thanked the Executive Director and the entire management of SLRSA and commended them for what she called Prioritizing His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio’s Safety and Security Agenda through such a novelty and groundbreaking innovation. This she said, can only happen under the leadership of the New Direction.
“This is but the best thing that has ever happened in the history of SLRSA in particular and the country as a whole.” She said.
